How to create a blog on WordPress

I am one of those people who are all for sharing ideas and skills, and learning from others, because I believe that it is the only and the best way to keep ourselves from becoming stagnant. Nobody wants to be that person who never took chances to try new things and experiences and just stuck with what they knew for the rest of their life, just because it was safe and easy. Well, maybe some people do, but I personally think that a life like that could turn out to be rather dull, seeing that I am always looking for a new adventure. If you have been following by blog since it’s inception, you would have realized that its been rather quiet for the last 2 weeks. My sincerest apologies, but the reason for my 2 week pause is actually because I decided to “unstuck” myself and get a new job (best decision ever!), but now I’m all settled in (meaning my chair finally has a properly defined dent created by my own buttox) and people no longer wonder “who is this woman?” when they get an email from me, so now I can get back to writing to you! 🙂

How to create your very own blog….

A blog is a very, very useful thing if you have something good to say and can be the starting point of a new career if you have real fresh and brutally honest talent. I think it is fair to say that is the best option for someone who is beginning a new blog and does not have any knowledge in coding, forget all the other options, because they are nothing in comparison to the ultimate power of WordPress. If you are a coding boffin or just have some knowledge of coding, their content management system (generaly spoken of as CMS) which can be found at is an amazing tool to build your own website from scratch.  In this post I will focus on showing you how to use the free version as it has enough functionality and flexibility for a basic blog.

1. Go to and select to start a blog
2. Pick a theme, don’t worry you will be able to change this later.
3. Choose a free domain, if you want to use a purchased domain you can also do so. Remember that your blog’s name is one of the main things that will attract readers, so be creative!
4. Then select the free plan.
5. Create a username and password.
6. You are ready to go!

Click on WP Admin to go to your dashboard where you will see all the functions. To create a new post, click on the Posts -> Add New link from your Dashboard. You will be redirected to a page where you can create your blog post. By clicking the “Publish” button your post will be immediately visible at the front page of your blog.

I hope that this has helped you, please let me know if you have any questions.
